Our Learning Environments
Infants
At Joyland, we provide a nurturing and safe environment for infants as young as 6 weeks old. We keep our ratios low and follow schedules provided by parents. In addition, we provide learning experiences daily in four subject areas including literacy, music, gross motor and cognitive development.
Older Infant
Our older infant room, called our wobbler room, is designed for children ages 12 to 23 months. At this age children are becoming more mobile and are enthusiastic about exploring the world around them. We get them on a familiar routine and use our curriculum or provide them with an array of enriching experiences.
Toddlers
Our toddler program is for children 2 years of age and is designed to encourage exploration and independence. We provide a variety of age-appropriate activities that foster your child's cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our teachers have years of experience to help them become successful in all these areas, including potty training.
Preschool
Our Preschool programs prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We offer both half and full day options to meet your needs. Our curriculum is designed to promote learning through play and exploration, while building important skills based on our curriculum and objectives. We offer a low ratio for individual attention to each student.
PreK/
Kindergarten
Our PreK program, as well as our Kindergarten program, provide smaller child/teacher ratio and extended hours, where each child receives individual attention for a longer period of time. We offer both full and half day options. We also provide busing to some schools as well as a summer program.
Our Approach
We seek to provide a quality home-like setting with emphasis on the individual interests and talents of each child. Our 7,100 square foot center provides an environment in which our curriculum supports children’s cognitive, language, social-emotional and physical development through various learning tools, education toys and gross motor equipment. We provide a balanced daily schedule of academics, physical activities and rest periods that are developmentally appropriate for each classroom. Our philosophy is based on the fact that children are unique beings and should therefore be treated as individuals and not part of a group. Our goal is to get to know the children personally, discover their special talents and guide them in their development of a positive self image.
